No flight = lower gas prices??

American Airlines Cancels 900 Flights Thursday

DALLAS -- Business trips and vacations were disrupted for tens of thousands of travelers Wednesday as American Airlines canceled more than 1,000 flights -- nearly half its schedule -- to fix faulty wiring that could cause a short-circuit or even a fire and explosion.

Does anybody else wonder how this will affect fuel prices? You know that all these cancellations is drastically reducing the amount of fuel jets are using. Wouldn't this affect the big bad oil companies? Maybe the "faulty wiring" is just a ploy to see if fuel prices would actually go down if less consumption occurs over a couple of days.

We'll see what happens.
