The sleet caused day two of weather-related school cancellations so far this winter. It finally began sleeting last night around midnight; I was monitoring weather conditions closely. ;)
Unfortunately, we're going to have to monitor weather conditions closely for Tuesday and Tuesday night. Freezing rain is a possibility, according to the NWS:
FREEZING DRIZZLE AND LIGHT FREEZING RAIN WILL DEVELOP OVER PORTIONS OF THE OUTLOOK AREA BY TUESDAY AFTERNOON. THIS FREEZING RAIN MAY BECOME HEAVIER LATE TUESDAY NIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY MORNING. ADDITIONAL ICE ACCUMULATIONS ARE POSSIBLE WITH THIS PERIOD OF FREEZING RAIN.
And we're in for some possible severe weather on Thursday:
STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE BY THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND THURSDAY NIGHT. THE PASSAGE OF A STRONG WARM FRONT WILL CAUSE AN INCREASE IN MOISTURE AND INSTABILITY. MEANWHILE...WIND SHEAR WILL BE VERY STRONG AND SUFFICIENT FOR ORGANIZED THUNDERSTORMS.
