The transition happened when I was in Chicago, so they've been out for about a week.
But I just can't decide whether or not I like KY3's new weather graphics. I would assume they made the modifications to the graphics so that they're more compatible with HD-sized TV screens.
The font selections are OK, I guess, but I don't know if I would call it an "upgrade" to the graphics — just a change. That is unlike what KOLR did with their weather graphics when they switched; I thought they were a total downgrade in graphics — some cheesy looking stuff KSPR had back in the day.
Any opinions?

I see it as a minor visual upgrade and like you, think it's made to be a clearer read on Digital/HD television.
As far as graphics packages are concerned, I'm not high on any of the ones here in Springfield. Small-market stations just don't have a ton of money to throw at a design firm like, say, KOIN-6 in my home state of Oregon.
At first, I had trouble figuring out what days the lows were on. Why don't they just put that night's temperatures on the extended forecast?
